I think they can. I know my cats who are usually pretty independant and only want to be petted when THEY want to, have been following me around. I even find them waiting on me to get out of the shower. It's like they know and want to protect me.
Also, my dog used to walk me to the mailbox when I was pregnant with my first. She never did that until I got pregnant. Ironically, she tripped me in the driveway at 39 weeks and that is how I ended up in labor.

ive heard animals can sense alot of things. i dont think its been scientificly proven that they can detect pregnancy yet, but i am sure its possible, i can even smell when a woman is lactating(particularly because the smell bothers me). i know that it has been scientificly proven (although not 100% of the time) that dogs can detect some forms of cancer. so right now who realy knows how much your cat can tell from your smell. :)

wow actually i was wondering the same thing haha. i have a cat who before i got pregnant seemed to hate me and not want to really be around unless i gave him treats. now he sleeps with me and "talks" to me... CONSTANTLY! he follows me around the house like a lost puppy dog and whenever i pick him up he instantly starts purring and "talking" or meowing again. haha. i'd like to know too! =)

I have no sicentific proof but I say yes for sure. My cat would not leave me alone when I was preggo! Some animals will completly avoid you and others will but up your butt.

I don't know about cats, but my puppy follows me around almost 24/7. I think he knows something is up.

They can smell your pheromones, they've changed and they smell the difference. they must be attracted by them. There are dogs that smell cancer, or when someone will die soon. Cats probably can too.
