is changing the lighter component in my car easy and cheap?? what do i buy?

Go to the dealer and purchase a smoker's kit. I think with Ford's, it is either a 10 or 20 dollar option when you purchase the car. If they don't have one in stock, they will order you one.

You may also try a salvage yard, and look for a model similiar to yours with the ashtray and lighter.
