The Dodgers are a NL team and should focus on pitching and defense. They should look into getting Torii Hunter for defense and Curt Schilling to help their youthful staff. If they want a big hitter then maybe a trade to get Jason Giambi. Im sure the Yankees want to get rid of him and would be open to taking some of the salary and Jason would love to go back to Cali where his heart always was...

Oh, the situation is not that dire. The Dodgers just need their young guys to develop. Also, a free agent middle-of-the-order bat is almost a certainty. I would bet money that the Dodgers end up with either Aaron Rowand or Torii Hunter to begin next season. Who knows, they might even try to trade for some hitting (since it apparently is more available than pitching these days).

This is why I have a problem with A-Rod, he is such a hypocrite.
That is an insane amount of money for just one player. How does he expect a team to be competitive when he wants to tie up a huge amount in payroll?

This of course wasn't a problem with the Yankees, but he should have learned this lesson from being on the Texas Rangers.

This just makes me appreciate Ichiro more, he has chosen to defer money and the Mariners will be paying him until 2030.

They could spend the money that they'd spend to get A-Rod and use it on 2, 3 or more guys that might not have the same individual stats as A-Rod, but can be productive people in the lineup.

I bet ARod never wins a world series. players like him don't win world series because there is only so far an offensive player can take a team. and thats as far as the playoffs if your lucky. pitching and timely hitting wins championships. not a lone big bat.
