Globalization has been on its way since the agricultural revolution (10,000 - 8,000 BCE). Only after we figured out how to control our food sources did we have time to sit and figure out other technologies. Since then, it's been a telescoping evolutionary paradigm for us. 10,000 years ago was the agricultural revolution, 400 years ago was the scientific revolution, 150 years ago was the industrial revolution, and the last 20-30 years have been the information revolution. We're going to see revolutionary leaps without our generation now. Globalization is just a manifestation of this, mixed with corporate-controlled "free" trade capitalism.
