WHAT IS WRONG WITH EQUALITY? I just want everyone to be treated equally. No one is superior. No one is inferior. Everyone works together for the benifit of society, thus the government evenly distrubutes resources to everyone, while the government is under scrutiny to avoid taking too much. Likewise to ensure everyone is working. My last question didn't get many positive responses. But I ask again, why do you disagree with the concept of equality?

There is incentive. it is force. We will force people to work, otherwise nothing will be produced. The government will not have excessive powers, such that we cannot trust if they are evenly distrubuting the resources.

You know what? No communist country has actually enforced the theories that Marx proposed, but instead created some corrupt government that even I would not want to live in.

It is in like in America. The government has power, but not unlimited power. There are certain things they cannot do and if it is unfair they will be tried.

We are only given equality under the law and even with that the law is not always dispensed equally. It's nice that you like the ideal of equality, but only in God's realm are all people equal. Even though child abuse is against the law, the law doesn't protect the child by taking the child away from the parent except in a few cases. They seem more apt to protect the abusers. If things can't be made equal for children then how could things be made equal for adults?
My grandchildren want to think everything should be fair, but I know that is not what real life is like and that I can't make things totally fair. They are not more evolved than I am because they can recognize when things are not fair and equal. They don't understand that no person is fair to others all the time and as humans we will never evolve beyond that point. Please tell me if anyone knows someone who has become perfect.

We are not equal. Some of us work hard and some of us are lazy. Some of us are smart and some are stupid. Some of us are strong and some are weak. Equality in the way you describe it (communism) is a pipe dream. We can't all be equally exceptional and why would we want to strive to be equally generic. Every time a system of government is tried based on the principals you've described it has failed and failed miserably.
**(in response to your additional details) How do you give the government the power to force people to work and still expect the people to have the power to "scrutinize" the government? Either the people control the government or the government controls the people.

The problem is that there is not and has never and will never be a level playing field to start from. Nothing is wrong with the idea, just in application there is no way to ever do it.
It's funny how people had two parents that had a college fund and pushed them to do well in school call what they did hard work. I had 2 great parents to raise me. We had enough money and food and education was the focus. What I accomplished wasn't hard, it was easy. Just because I make way more than most people, it wasn't me that created this life, my parents wouldn't accept any less. They were the ones that worked hard not me.

equality cannot be forced. equality is what we need to work towards but you cant put a government in and force people to work for the state because the people who are leading become a new class. It simply does not work. stop acting like you are a revolutionary. it is a good idea that DOES. NOT. WORK. that is all.
most people argue against this because they believe that america is a meritocracy where hard work=success. this is simply not true in modern america. If you were born on third base, don't say you hit a triple! The only reason I reject socialism is that it cannot be successfully applied to humans. Every government that has tried to implement socialism has ended up going against all its original principles.
FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST STUDY ACTUAL INSTANCES OF COMMUNISM BEFORE YOU BRING THIS UP AGAIN. YOU ARE MAKING THE SAME TIRED ARGUMENTS OVER AND OVER WITHOUT RESPECT TO HISTORICAL FACT.

In sociology, pecking orders are part of the evolution of consciousness. This process is as old as the planet. Equality is something that must be realized and decided upon by the majority. If the majority enjoys the struggle for height on the social ladder then they must continue this struggle until they see its flaws. This is the very nature of consciousness. You are an evolved person to see that this is truly the ideal way of organizing the culture but do not expect other less evolved people to understand until they have learned this the hard way, it may be several or more generations before others catch up with what you see now.
Note that your job is to lead, inspire and help the world move in this direction... unity, non-judgment, acceptance, and compassion towards others.

Not everyone is equally trained or educated; not everyone is equally hard-working; not everyone contributes equally to society.
It sounds like you want the government to take in money and then split it equally among everyone.
What will motivate the hard workers to continue working hard if the get back LESS than they contribute? What will motivate the below average workers from working harder if they get back MORE than they contribute without having to put in much effort?
Equality means that everyone is given the opportunity to succeed, but that doesn't mean everyone will succeed equally.

I answered your last question. Why do you disguise communism by calling it equality?
Whether everyone is inherently equal is a matter of serious philosophical debate. I think all life has value, but I do not believe all life is equal.
Whether everyone is equally valuable is NOT a matter of debate, which is why different jobs carry different incomes. Is this fair? If you were the one who spent 7 years (and over $100k) in school it might seem fairer.

Nothing is wrong with equality. Having some communist elements in a democracy would not be bad thing. But this is America. America was founded capitalism which is based on the have and have nots. America was founded on freedom but allow slavery.

I think most of us feel that your concept of equality is naive and unrealistic.
In my opinion the best we can hope for is to achieve Life (food+water+shelter+healthcare+education) + Liberty (The rule of law+equal justice under it)= the pursuit of happiness.
Many people believe in the right of the fetus to come to term and be born, but seem to feel that our responsibility as a civilized society ends there.
"Let them be born, then let us take advantage of them."
They have delusions of grandeur about how self reliant they are and how they have accomplished everything in their lives without assistance from the society as a whole.
They are wrong.
