I actually really like that name. Usually I don't like non-traditional names (of course I think I'm getting used to them since I have a friend who named her son Zane and a cousin who named her son Cannon) but I think that is a beautiful name. Yes it's odd but it wont be to her, it will just be her name, and at least it's a strong, beautiful, unique name.

I think the child will have trouble in school with a name like that. She will probably get teased by other children. I think your friend should have named her something that meant fire like:
Aden - fire in Gaelic
Candice - fire-white in Greek
Keahi - the fire in Hawaiian
I actually think Raine would have been better as the first name. But, I guess, every mother is entitled to name a child whatever she wants. At least, Fyre will be unique, no one else in school will have her name! :)

if she has another child would he/she be Urth (Earth) Wynd (Wind)? :p. the name kind of makes me think of an American Gladiator or a female wrestler or a member of the Phoenix family, or something. I mean, i love Raine, but i'm not really sure about the Fyre, especially with that spelling. But then again i have seen much worse (Celebrity babies) and at least the name fits a theme and maybe has some kind of special meaning to your friend, so i guess maybe it's not really all that bad.

The poor girl is going to have a hard time in high school.
What makes it worse, is that she can't even use her middle name, because it's not much better than her first!

I have to admit, I'd rather go by "Raine" than "Fire."
Raine is actually some what normal=)

Another thing, now that she named her first child an unusual name, she is going to have to keep it up if she ever has another.
It would be odd to have two kids,
"Fyre and Tommy."

Just my opinions=]

No... you're not the only one who thinks that is weird :S
I don't have any problem with "Raine" as a middle name, depending on what it's coupled with. But Fyre is too out there... I don't know why people come up with names like that for their children.

wow that sounds cool but a little over the top. I mean I could see myself naming a baby girl Skye Lynn or something but Fyre and raine together? you know maybe Danielle Raine
or something.

Yeah, that's too weird. I feel kinda sorry for the kid... no offense or anything, but who wants there name to be Fyre Raine? I like weird names but definitely not that weird!

Alright, with respect to the mother of this girl I will say nothing of Fyre. I actually am cool with the name Rain but not so much with the spelling she chose. Is it not unique enough to be one of the elements?

It's a bit much, imho.

Raine is nice, I don't like Fyre much. Everytime I see it I see Fry and think of the guy from Futurama lol.

What some people will do to their children....its just down right cruel. Freya would have been so much better and even thats a little weird.
Does she live in California?
