Thank you for your replies! I am a bit surprised some have made assumptions about my view on the subject -- I thought I asked this in as neutral a way as possible, but perhaps not.

I was curious about this, because my understanding is that some Christian politcal organizations (such as Focus on the Family) have strongly supported Republicans for the last few elections, primarily because of promises about who they will appoint to the Supreme Court.

Never gonna happen.

Aside from ammendments giving women and minorities the right to vote, Roe V. Wade is one of the most cemented Supreme Court rulings in our country's history.

It's not going anywhere.

It doesn't really matter if a Republican or a Democrat is in office, the Supreme Court is not going to overturn a decision like that. It would be a little like the Prohibition. A really stupid move, and more trouble than it's worth. And again overturned quickly.

I'm not an idealist, and I know there is corruption in the government and such, but we are a country whose government is built on the premise of being "for the people, by the people."

That decision would fly in the face of that theory.

No, Roe v Wade is here to stay....get over it.

No. There won't be a Republican in the Oval office for a long time.

The worst political corruption of the past 30 years have been on Republicans watch; Nixon, Reagan and the current idiot.

Roe v Wade is the law of the land and the Supreme Court will not over turn it.

Some of us may want Roe v Wade turned over but to be realistic it's not going to happen.

Not likely if what all the justices said in the Senate is true. They all suggested they would be unlikely to overturn previous decisions.

No, we're stuck with it. I do think that partial birth abortion should be illegal.

If a Republican wins, we will hopefully continue to have judges like Roberts instead of crazies like Bader-Ginsberg.
