...is there any need to use your blinkers?

I still do, out of force of habit, but I really don't see any point.

Yeah, I always do too. You never know where a bored cop is hiding.
I also come to a full and complete stop at stop signs. I did a rolling stop once, when I thought there was nobody around. I got pulled over with in 50 feet of the sign. He let me off with a warning because he asked where I was coming from and I told him that I was on my way home from work (2 am) at the church. I am the night janitor. It's not like I'm a Pastor or something like that. I pick up trash. But I'm not going to complain about getting out of a ticket that I fully deserved.

Yes, I drive for a living and put on an average of 120 thousand miles a year on my truck. You want to stay in the habit of signaling, and every thing else you should be doing, (like checking your mirrors) so you won't forget, just when you need it.

Yes. It makes me feel better about myself that I still follow the law even when no one is looking. Also, I like the sound my blinker makes. :P

Of course there is no need but it is better to always signal so it becomes habit. That way you can use conscious judgment to drive more safely.

I do it out of habit too. Then I stop and realize there's no one around and I turn em off.

I guess we need to let the bugs that are flying around our vehicles know which way we're going.
