Most people will say Outer Mongolia, but if you look at pre-WW2 maps, there was also a tiny country called Tanna Tuva. The Russians and Chinese had a tissy-fit, so it was eventually absorbed by Mongolia. You can still find the TUVA region on current Mongolian maps.
Bet that's a surprise!!

Ummm..........well the country between Russia and China is the border.
Ummm......there's also Mongolia.
And I wouldn't say Kazakhstan, because then that would include all the other Central Asian countries, so that's a pretty big gap.
