No. Mostly empty space sprinkled with a few specks of rocks and hot gases.

The thing that you are not considering is that life is a consequence of the way that the universe developed. Therefore, if somehow the universe developed the same way without creating any kind of life, the natural laws governing the universe would have to be fundamentally changed so that life did not occur due to natural evolution. However, if you are suggesting that somehow life was suddenly eradicated from the universe, it would not, as you suggest, be "full of rock." It would be full of exactly the same matter and dark matter of which it is currently composed however there would be no force or movement within or of organisms. This question is fundamentally flawed in that you do not define life and at what point we determine what is life and what is not life. Is bacteria life? Is a chemical reaction life? These are the things that life has sprung from. Perhaps you should be more specific.

Buttercup: We'll never succeed. We may as well die here.
Westley: No, no. We have already succeeded. I mean, what are the three terrors of the Fire Swamp? One, the flame spurt - no problem. There's a popping sound preceding each; we can avoid that. Two, the lightning sand, which you were clever enough to discover what that looks like, so in the future we can avoid that too.
Buttercup: Westley, what about the R.O.U.S.'s?
Westley: Rodents Of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist.

Wait, no, there was life there.

There would have to be everything that promotes the nonexistence of life.

Rocks, fire, lava, harmful gases, high winds, extreme dryness, extreme hot and/or cold, ultra-violet radiation. That's what I think anyway.

You have to define "life" for a real answer. Defining "life" is an entertaining deversion in itself.

Myself, I am of the opinion that every thing is alive because every thing is made of itty-bitty particles zipping around; and that's pretty lively, if you ask me.
