Not only has he managed to kill another Australian, but has also contributed to many Afgani and Iraqi deaths, by way of Australian killing them.

He has cost this country and many others precious lives that cannot be bought back by any amount of money or media spin.

Anyone here who believes the U.S. and Australia are waging war in the middle east for any other reason other that oil should be thinking about pinning up their stocking and getting to bed early on xmas eve.

Recent reports out of Afghanistan say that the European NATO powers are backsliding on their commitment and Australian forces are being forced more and more into the front line as a consequence are a sobering thought for all who question our commitment to this war or wars.

The U.S. has made it crystal clear that it will attack Iran soon and that means a further commitment of troops if the libs sneak back in.

Lets get them home to their kids! I am not against wars, I am against Wars based on self interest and political gain and justified by lies and deceit!. If this war to rid the world of WMD's then why are we not in North Korea or Pakistan and India and more, all who have threaten to use them at some point in the last 6 years. This was purely based on oil. Its the worlds most valuable resource and America is its biggest user, however you don't have to pay for it if you have taken control of it. Soldiers know what they are signing up for but clearly these are not protecting Australia's interests, they are protecting US interests. Since going to war there have been terrorist attacks on Australians (specifically targeted) all over the world, prior to that there wasn't one. Terrorists are not a state (sovereign country), they are scattered through out all societies and to think you can march into a couple of countries and solve it is completely stupid and ignorant of the way Terrorism works. If this was at all true we would seen a major decline in terrorist attacks not a major increase. Unfortunately this soldier died fighting for America's interest and not Australian Protection. God Bless His Family and lets hope Governmets and Communites support the Family. Next time you are getting fuel wonder how many US, Aussie, British soldiers spilt their blood for it and was it worth it to their families.

The only thing that I can say is that the soldier died in a legal war (UN Sanctioned war) and not in Iraq which is an illegal war (not sanctioned by the UN). As a former war correspondent I am against most wars. Certainly against the Iraq war and only half support the War in Afghanistan.
I hope that it raises the awareness of the Australian voters and that they vote little johnny and his mates out.

The sooner we get these guys and girls out of there the better.
If Howard's son was over there, he would have pulled them out years ago.
I don't want to disrespect these people, but they train for war and they know what the risks are going in.
Now that there is an election coming, Howard is making a real point of sending his condolences to the family first before mentioning the Army, unlike the last one that was killed.

Hey Guys and Girls. I am Labor through and through. I know we are doing the right thing in Afghanistan. The War in Iraq is a suck hole Liberal Ideal. Johnny wants to show his bed Mate that he can be an Idiot as well. Bush started this war and Johnny followed so close he was sniffing his underpants. I suppose they deserve to lose their next Elections. What a pair of W*#nkers.
07 Observer, We have lost one of our own. But the first thing that is lost in all wars is truth. You need to look back at History as well. Johnny is not a Hero. He sent these poor Buggars off to War. "Think before writing Yourself".

I suppose you will blame john howard for everything. You need to do your homework before you put something as stupid as this in print.

We have lost a hero please show some respect.

Dick E

Surfa,
