Unless your goldfish are more than 40 years old, they aren't "getting old".

It's really not unusual for goldfish to change color, and the change is almost always to a lighter color. Changes are especially to be expected when the fish are young, or if they've just been moved indoors for the winter from an outdoor pond (sort of how a "suntan" fades).

Unless the whiteness is "fuzzy" (Columnaris, or a fungal infection) or is in the form of small white spots (ich or velvet), this shouldn't be anything that will harm the fish.

I'm assuming that you mean that their colors are fading. You can purchase foods that have color enhancers in them, as well as other beneficial nutrients to bring the colors back.
Hikari makes excellent foods specifically for this purpose. You may also want to try buying a couple different types of food to vary their diet every so often. Just be sure to buy foods that either sink, or soften with water so they don't have to gulp too much air. This can make them susceptible to swim bladder problems.

i had a fish that was black and orange and i named it tiger. but then it just started losing its color and was turning white. so i think its totally normal. just aging is all. cause that thing lived for sooo long.
