Ok , Please dont judge me by what i am about to tell you . Please rember that this is only a friend of mine who begged me to ask this question .

OK now heres the thing , my friend is in a rock band and is paying 8,000 $ to make a music video for thier song . Anyways , its a political song and its mostly about the us government . Now rember , just because hes my friend doesnt mean i aprove of this video . OK well he wants to have a scene in the video where he is holding up a flag he set on fire . He has another scene where he sets 10 , 1 dollar bills on fire . He also has a scene where he is dressed as a general in the army and he is shot in the head ( im pretty sure thats what he said ) and he has a picture of president bush which he will shoot with darts and then set on fire as well . And he wanted to know if he can be sued or taken to jail for doing this in his video . He said that hes not going to pay 8,000$ for a video that might land him behind bars .

No he wont get into trouble all that falls under freedom of speech. Lots of other people have protested like that before, worse even. He'll be alright.

Well Moore isn't in jail for his crap, sounds like a extreme version of dissent. He could get the message across with out appearing to be some wacko who the feds might want to take a closer look at. But freedom of speech is greatly valued.

Technically, he can do those things legally. It falls under the first ammendment. It's disrespectful, but not criminal.

Have him make sure he has a fire extinguisher and a fire marshall close at hand. With all those fires and burning stuff, he won't want to be charged with arson, vandalism, or any other crime that could result from that much fire.

They will probably say he is a terrorist and throw him in jail to rot. Although it is your constitutional right to burn the American flag (the spirit of the flag), Burning the dollar bills don't bother me any, they aren't worth the paper they are printed on, the are federal reserve "notes". I don't believe in murder as far as the general is concerned so I would leave that out, and shooting darts at a picture of bush, I don't think that is illegal, but I wouldn't take the chance.

Yes, definitely legal. You may need a permit for the fires. Call the fire department to check.

If I were he I would definitely think twice about all of that as I am quite certain he could get some jail time.
