there was a trilogy featuring Karen Black that had this little voodoo doll that came alive and killed whenever it's amulet necklace came off...that was awesome...then there is anything involving Alfred Hitchcock, Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, and Boris Karloff...happy day:)

Probably National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! I can't even pick the funniest scene because the whole movie is absolutely hilarious, although when Chevy Chase's brother-in-law comes to visit and is wearing a red dickie under a white shirt...well, I want to wet my pants whenever I watch it! For me and my family, Christmas isn't complete without a screening of Christmas Vacation!

Nice Avatar. I like Carrie a lot, scared the crap out of me when I first saw it. Still can bring chills up and down my spine like immediately following the time when she is drenched in blood and begins to lock the doors and windows with the power of her mind. She looked like a creature of hell then especially when she was walking through the fire. Whew. And of course, the ending whoa!
So many great movies out there, it is hard to pick a favorite horror movie. I also like "the Fog", the first one is best. A real ghost story. Halloween, the first one is great too and I normally don't go for slasher films either.
For an old classic, I like Vincent Price in "Theater of Blood". Really great with suspense, acting, writing, casting and black humor. I think it was his very best film ever made.
"Race with the Devil", staring Peter Fonda, Warren Oates, and Sally Kellerman being chased by a group of Satan worshipers. Whew, can still scare the crap outta me. Good stuff all.

When I was younger I saw Poltergeist and that was enough for me, I've never been able to bear that pshhh sound on the telly since. I havent watched the movie since then either so I'm not sure if the special effects would be outdated and it would look a bit silly. The original "amityville horror" oooh that was a bad/good one, wonder why we enjoy scaring ourselves so much. :)
