Browse for people in your age group, or in your zipcode, or at a school you went to. I found some people I'd know at school who I didn't expect would be there. And learned things I didn't expect.
And friends of friends are a good place too.
Send out some notes (msg) to people about what they post.
Maybe there are other people there with your same name? Maybe... Lots of things. Just start looking around.
And send invites to your friends who have e-mail. (Doesn't everyone?)

You can go to my profile and add me if you're over 18. But I wouldn't suggest soliciting "friends" that you don't know... that could lead to some serious perversions... unless that's what you're into.. (again, assuming you're of age!)
