Because like the Red Sox, it is a cult, a loyalty to team, and we farmers are team players,and around my parts, really loyal fans to the home team!!!!!!
P.S. I also like the traditional blue ford tractor!!!!!!!
But danm it, it is still tractor love pure and simple !
I actually have a John Deere kitchen canister set, and I am mighty proud to say so!
I Have my old red sox tickets, jerseys, and pictures. Thankfully NO old 1/2 eaten Fenway Franks!

There are 2 reasons: one a good reason and one a silly reason.
Some people do because they are farmers and they use John Deere equipment. Either they get gifts from the John Deere dealer (John Deere likes to treat their customers well, if a farmer buys a 200,000 dollar machine, with a monthly payment larger than most people's mortgages, John Deere will show appreciation by giving them a nice jacket or something to say Thank You for your business.). Farmers also BUY John Deere clothing because they like the product, much like you might buy a sweatshirt because you like a particular kind of beer or a sports team.
The other kind of people who wear John Deere stuff are idiots who don't even know what John Deere is, they wear their JD hats backward, or wear pink (UGH) John Deere girly shirts. They're just followers who will be following the next fad in another 6 months or so.

I wear it to support my favorite line of ag equipment, we mostly use John Deere equipment on our farm with an occasional New Holland, lol.

John Deere is the Cadillac of farm equipment. So it's country class, I guess. I think when you buy something from John Deere they give you hats free.
