Do you think they have an unfair advantage over the "typical American" who aspires to become President someday? (such as..previous connections, a hefty war chest, name recognition...)

(I used Bush as an ex. since we have had 2 for President, We have had only Only Clinton thus far, nothing was implied other than use of example. I'm just curious as to what people think about multiple family members becoming President, I personally believe that there is certainly a difference in and a lack of knowledge between voters who are involved and understand the campaigning and the political process compared to those who don't get involved)

Sure it's fair. It's an ELECTION. So that person also runs the risk of taking on the previous shortcomings (adultery, perjury, etc.). It doesn't actually swing the favor, just the recognition.
Your question kind of makes it sound like W had no political experience prior to being elected. Also a little funny that your example is the Bush family and doesn't mention the Clintons. Is one family less open for such a scrutinous question?
Furthermore, what would happen if they made some sort of rule like many contests and sweepstakes have "employees and families of employees are not eligible to win"? What OTHER kinds of rules would you be willing to impose to keep it "fair"? Republicans may not vote on days ending in y? Surely you libs would love THAT!
Did you ever think maybe if Clinton had taken Saddam out of power (like he said he would in the policy HE made) HE might have one of these "war chests"? Maybe if he'd done that Gore could have gotten elected because he wouldn't look like such a spineless jellyfish!
Bush wasn't elected because of who his father is, he was elected because he is a better LEADER! Either Gore or Kerry would have put us at serious risk of being attacked again. History tells us this by the amount of times we were attacked in the 90's with a Dem (Lib) in power.

sure, i think of that no longer in simple terms our upbringing yet each little thing that happens to us impacts us profoundly. i'm no longer the comparable guy or woman i became 5 years in the past, using fact I lived with an abuser for many of that element. It took me awhile to realize in simple terms how diverse i'm, yet i'm able to make certain the transformations ensue themselves in my interactions with human beings, extraordinarily adult men, now. i'm a very solid guy or woman so i'm going to in no way enable my upbringing or something in my previous to adversely impression me to the element that i'd enhance into lazy or apathetic approximately life, or a burden on others, or blame my previous for my strikes. I see multiple human beings doing this and it gets on my nerves. i think of you're good, there does come a element in each and each guy or woman's life the place it quite is their accountability as an person to make a unsleeping determination to the two permit their young infants smash their skill or to quit giving their young infants skill over their destiny.

I don't think it should be prohibited, you could potentially lose some great leaders that way.
But having a family member in the political spotlight certainly is an advantage. It may not be fair, but that's life.

It may not be "fair", but there is nothing illegal about it according to the Constitution. After all we had 2 Roosevelts in the Oval office. No problem there.

It's not illegal. Bobby Kennedy would have made it to the Whitehouse had it not been for Sirhan Sirhan...I'm with Rachel S..I would rather write in Sox or Buddy....or go Independent and write in Bugs Bunny or Marvin Martian. At least they are true to themselves and have definite plans of action.

"Fair" is an illusion. What may be fair for me may be totally unfair to you. Do I think it's fair? Sure.
