The birth of a child, a new car, coming into some money or even a hug from a friend can do it. But I think it happens particularly to people who fall in love. There is a kind of glow to people who fall in love. It's happened to me. But the reverse is true as well. Death of someone close or losing a love can cause that glow to turn to a darkness that others can readily see. It's like wearing a neon sign around your neck . When you're happy, it shows brightly. When something bad happens, that light disappears.

Yes often, but the best time was when I finally gave birth to my son after seven months bed rest, then I survived the two days in intensive care when he was eventually born, I've been smiling ever since.

Yeah a couple weeks ago I met this girl and I thought I was hiding it well but then when I got home everyone kept asking why the hell I was smiling so much.

When I read a book and something incredulous happens, it always shows on my face and everyone around me asks me what happened or if I'm enjoying my book. lol.
