Cubs and their fans need to fall out of love with losing. There is nothing lovable about losing.
Winning a 5 or 7 game baseball series is definitely crap-shoot. But if your team hasn't made appearances consistently in the postseason inspite of having the deepest pockects in NL, then there si something wrong.
Develop farm talent. Yes, it is slow but an effective method. Cleveland proved it this year.
Get quality pitchers who can last a few years without being injury prone. Overall the SABR approach has been working for many teams (especially the Red Sox), so why not adopt it?
Hiring Lou Pinella was good move.

Cubs followers are understandably disenchanted with the season so some distance. The harm to Zambrano isn't assisting, alongside with those to Ramierez and Bradley. Plus, Cardinals all began reliable on the Cubs fee. The fan assistance will return whilst there's a sustainable triumphing streak and 1st place in the branch is performed. perhaps this highway trip will help re-set up the group's challenge. the subsequent 11 video games against weaker communities is the possibility for the Cubs to coach they are greater suited than what has been shown so some distance. flow CUBS!

They are on the verge of being playoff contender for a couple of yrs..it could happen...but I imagine they have been saying that for the last 99 yrs also...I just hope Im alive to see it..which there are very few people are that last saw the cubs win the WS. I have heard more more about curses in the last 5 yrs than all the yrs I have been a fan ( which is about 40). I wonder if ESPN has some guy going around just scouring old papers and then building what he reads up to be some kind of mystical spell?

Borrow this phrase from Dodger and Red Sox fans: Wait till next year. They have a good time. They got to the playoffs. Maybe next year they will get to the World Series. Please don't let Steve Bartman sit in the front row again or they already would have been in a World Series 4 years ago

I'm sorry, but I live in Colorado and I'm sooo excited for my Rockies. We are one of the few teams that doesn't buy the best players just to win... we work our players to combine a good team

In 1908, I think they did. The "Lovable Losers" live up to their name, just ask Lee Elia.
