I just found out I have a low thyroid level. I have also noticed the start of some premature gray hairs. I have read that the two might be correlated. My Doctor is putting me on medication to balance out my thyroid. Once I start taking the medication to balance out my thyroid, is there any chance my gray hairs might start going away?

Probably not. There are many other things that cause hair to go gray early, and low thyroid by itself doesn't usually cause graying. You might try taking a multi-mineral supplement, as low levels of copper and some other minerals can contribute to graying. BUT be careful and don't take more than the recommended dosage, as too high a mineral intake can be toxic.

They may or may not go away. Sorry for the lame answer but it's one of those everyone is different type of things. It's certainly possible for you to grow back your original color, but I wouldn't count on it.
