Well as a former Pantheist,Occultist, now by the grace of GOD I am a born again Christian. My family celebrates a Christian Christmas. We have an elaborate Nativity scene. No tree,no holly, no mistletoe,no Santa Claus or reindeer, and no Yule log. We sing Christian Christmas Carols. We decorate the living room with candy canes. Candy canes represent the J for Jesus. The white stands for Jesus`s sinless nature.the red strips represent the blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary. We give each other only three gifts. That represents the gifts that the wise men brought to Jesus. Gold Frankinscence, and Myrrh. Each visitor gets a candy cane to take with them.

My family doesn't have too many traditions, seeing as it's only my mother and I. In October, we all go down to our old town/road where my grandmother still lives, and we celebrate an early "Christmas" with here, where we have our Christmas dinner, and my grandparents and the kids open up their gifts.
On Christmas Eve we set up our tree [we don't decorate it... it's one of those fake fibre optic ones] and I lug out all of the presents. Then we sit around in the living room, watching Christmas specials for a few hours.
Christmas morning, I make mom a cup of tea and wake her up. And depending on how my father and I are getting along, I go out to his house to celebrate Christmas with his side of the family.

On Christmas my family and I have a big dinner which my mom cooks in the afternoon. We all wake up pretty late on Christmas day becuase everyone is tired from work. Either before Christmas day, on Christmas day, or right after we go to South Carolina to see my extended family. We eat a big meal, talk and catch up on some things, and open presents, then we eat dessert. And my b-day is two days after Christmas so we sometomes celebrate it on Christmas.

On X-mas eve we bake in the afternoon (cookies, almond roca, peanut/almond brittle) for the family then in the evening we make hot chocolate watch the original Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and at midnight we open 1 present. On Christmas morning we wake up pretty early, open presents hang out for about and hour then go to my aunts house to exchange gifts there, then my grandparents house where my dads side of the family gets together. I love it.

Every year on Christmas we would open presents in the morning and have monkey bread for breakfast. Then we just sit around and talk about old memories and our best Christmas's and for lunch/dinner we would have ham and rolls and 7 layered jello. But for the most part we would just sit around and reminisce about old times. I love the holidays.

We have a tradition of trying to see who can actually get my grandpa to smile--he hates holidays, so its basically a game to see who can get him to enjoy it!

We also, as kids, always opened one present on Christmas Eve because we couldn't wait any longer!
