I’m sure you will have a bunch of perverts who will make a joke out of you wanting to be more feminine and look pretty for your man.
After 18 years of marriage, it is not the color of the outfit. It is the attitude of the person wearing it. If my wife feels sexy and she acts silly and seductive, then I let her know she looks great!
The act of making love to your significant other has been perverted by scumbags who make porn or by the losers who tell women that they have to be a size 1 to be pretty. After having kids my wife's shape went away but I have never told her she HAD to loose weight.
Here is what you do.
Make him a great dinner. Have candles and fancy things on the table with a tablecloth. Plan the menu and make sure the food is ready when he comes home or within 15 minutes after he hits the door. Tell him to go get a shower and then it will be ready or if your person does not work in a dirty environment, have him sit down while you get the food. Have his favorite beverage waiting. After dinner, offer desert and then while he is enjoying it. Slip into the bedroom and slip into something more comfortable. Then invite him in. if he asks what is up just tell him it is an appreciation dinner. You are showing appreciation for the hard work he does for you and for the love that he shows you on a daily basis.
I wish you a great night together and ignore all the fools who try to make this time cheap and dirty.

It's a combination of both...some colors look better on some girls, some styles fit better. My girlfriend and I make it fun in the way that she takes me shopping anytime she needs new lingerie.

I took my wife shopping for lingerie once. She looked around for a while, then picked out something and held it up asking me if I liked it.
I walked over, took the hanger from her, threw it on the floor and looked at it. I told her that one is great.
She looked at me like I was crazy and asked why I threw it on the floor.
I told her that is where I want to see it when we get home. I don't care what she wears to bed...she looks best once her clothes are on the floor.
She decided not to buy anything that day.

I heard once that red is the best color. There was some reason that I cant really remember. ANd I suppose the cut depends on the body type.

Color, cut and style don't matter to me. What's more important is the fact that a woman cares enough about you to want to please you! That speaks volumes. Secondary to that, it should be something the woman feels sexy in, whatever that is. It doesn't stay on long anyway if things progress like they should!
