Well, I have NOT seen an apparition that one might call a ghost, even the Holy Ghost. I have had several things happen over the years that convinced me that some sort of spirits exist. Oh, btw, I am most certainly a Conservative and my wife is as well. She is actually the one that SAW the apparitions. I have had a couple incidences which I cannot explain other than a spirit, but I am well aware there could be other explanations. My wife is very intelligent and qualified as a MM in Mensa. That is to say that her IQ was in the top 2% of the top 2% of the population. She is a retired attorney.
She has "heard" my thoughts and swears that she actually heard me speak, when I had not said a word. However, it is not uncommon for couples who have been married many years to do this, but my point is that she hears me, not the other way around. My wife is also scrupulously honest and not a prankster. And she would never tell a living soul what she told me on the subject.
I like to take a dig at Liberals as much or more than anyone else, but maybe the answer to your question is that they are just more sensitive than the rest of us. That does NOT mean anything other than Liberals seem to have a hard time differentiating between feelings and reason.
So, I would suggest that roughly half of the population seems to be sensitive enough to detect the spirits, but 31% seem to have little more than sensitivity.

I don't know.
Did you see this part?

"To put the roughly one-third who believe in ghosts and UFOs in perspective, it's about the same as, in recent AP-Ipsos polls, the 36 percent who said they are baseball fans; the 37 percent who said the U.S. made the right decision to invade Iraq; and the 31 percent who approve of the job President Bush is doing."

OF course there is going to more of one than the other!
That doesn't have anything to do with anything!
Do you really expect it to be a perfect 1:1 ratio?
Exactaly 50% Liberals and 50% conservatives??
It just HAPPENS to be this way!!!

because ghosts have good taste?
But in reality, most of the christian fanatics are taught that ghosts and spectres are the devil trying to talk to you.
maybe they should ask them if they have ever seen the devil, or experienced a ghost. If they say no, ask them why they all, claim to have, every sunday at church.
