The world may be too big, but an individual's world is likely to be rather small, unless one can escape the limitations of self. Each of us draws a virtual circle around own self, which is getting smaller and smaller these days because of the trend of narrow individualism and paucity of leisure time.... the narrow outlook is further accentuated by a short term and quantitative approach to life as opposed to a longer term and qualitative outlook. Furthermore, we are getting too obsessed with the specifics to be able to appreciate the wider picture.

The above is the broader picture...... the technology driven compression of time and distance may seem to have increased our interactions over a greater width of geographic and material world, but those interactions remain qualitatively narrow around self only..... we can not even find enough time for our family (notwithstanding family itself having already shrunk to very narrow definition), leave alone finding time for the society and nation. By speeding up everything, technology may be freeing up time, but we are becoming more and more busy in mundane essentials leaving little spare time for anything else. Our technology having compressed time and distance has not made the world small... it still remains too big for us because we have no time for anything other than self, all the time barely managing to live in that small world of our own.

Take a look at some of the astronomy photos were they show the galaxy and then there is a small pin point (which is earth) and the arrow says you are here.

Besides that, every time I do something that I shouldn't someone sees me, that know me. The world is either too small or too populated. lol

It all depends how you look at it.
We could be the only life in an enormous universe, making us very small and insignificant.

Or, you could look at just earth itself. 6 billion people... sounds like a big world to me, all those billions you have never met.

But then again, we are all interconnected. When we all know eachother somehow, it makes the world seem like a smaller place.

Your question makes me wish that my memory was better.

I'd like to remember the names and faces of everyone on the planet.

The names (English and Latin) and characteristics of all living species on the planet.

And the names of all the humanly-named places on the planet.

As you can imagine, I don't think that this is a small world. Its not small enough that I would be able to remember everything anyway.

It may be a small world when you consider how fast electronic communications are, or how fast we can travel from one major city to another, but when you're down on your feet, and you walk the world, you realize just how HUGE it is. And when you consider all the different peoples and cultures, it, again, is HUGE. God Bless you.

Here's where I show my age. My dad was around when the Wright brothers flew their plane at Kitty Hawk. He worked for Henry Ford and watched at the Model T grew into the Model A and on through the Thunderbird. He saw the invention of radio and later television. He saw flight go from Kitty Hawk to the moon. Telephone communication went from "hello central" to touch-tone, from wire to fiber optic to satellite.

I came on the scene in the mid 1930s. I saw flight perfected with prop driven planes yielding to jets and ultimately space. I saw radio progress to black and white television, then color, then cable. I saw recording go from 78 rpm, to 45's and 33-1/3. Wire recorders yielded to tape and from audio to video. Speed on the ground went from a walk to Dayton, in the air from Kitty Hawk to space, and in communications from a tight string stretched between two paper cups to internet. I can chat on-line with my grandson in Iraq in a blink of an eye.
So the answer to your question, the world is as small or as big as you can imagine.
