Hi. My cd-dvd drive is not recognizing that I put a disk on the tray. It doesnt give me that option box that lets you choose if you want to "play" or "copy" the CD. Nothing happens, like there isnt a disk in the tray. I've tried going thru windows media player, using a DVD playing program, no programs are recognizing any disk I use, DVD or CD.

It depends on the DVD. If it is a pre recorded disk it should play, but if it is one you recorded elsewhere to play on your computer it may not work. I'm not sure why this is but I have the same problem.

Compact Discs should play, but copies you make yourself may not.
