I'm against. People have tried to change my mind by telling me that people should be allowed to love whoever they want, but, well, it's not true. If you are in love with your brother or sister or cousin or dog it wouldn't be acceptable, so no one can say that people should truly be allowed to love whoever they want. I think that gay marriage, if it is accepted and allowed, will destroy the family unit. Kids deserve a mom and a dad, two fathers can't raise a child as well as a mom and a dad, nor can two mothers raise a child as well as a mom and a dad. And everyone who says they are a Christian and is pro-gay marriage apparently has never read the Bible. From the very beginning, it said God made woman because no suitable companion for man had been found among all the creatures God had already made. Woman was the last creature to be made, so if man was already there and there was not a suitable companion for man, then that is pretty clear that man is not a suitable companion for man. Also, the entire towns of Soddom and Gomorrah were destroyed simply because the people of those towns were gay. I do am not against it because of religion, though, because people were also not allowed to eat pigs back then and I'm sure we've all had a ham and cheese sandwich. If I condemn homosexuality because of the Bible, I'd have to condemn ham, tattoos, body piercings, and scads of other things that I see no problem with because of the Bible as well. The main reasons I am against it are, like I said, it will destroy the family unit, and it's also a fabulous way to spread new and complicated diseases around. Mankind has enough trouble without anyone inventing new ways to spread sexually transmitted diseases. Gay people need to see counselors and get things straightened out in their lives, not encouraged. Most gays have SEVERAL more sexual partners throughout their lives than straight people. And because of it, disease runs rampant among gays. It needs to stop. It is not 'okay' and 'normal' and 'natural.' I do not hate gays, not in the least. But they do need help to get their lives fixed up so that they can have a meaningful relationship instead of several relationships for the sake of sex, and they can cut their risk of disease and not do a disservice to their children.

Marriage was designed my God to be meant for one man and one woman. Just think about how weird it is, it just doesn't make sense and its not natural. In the wild you will never see an animal that prefers the same sex over the opposite. It has also NEVER been proven that homosexuality is genetic. I do not hate gay people. I have friends who are gay, I just don't agree with it.

i could care less

a while back, blacks were deprived of marriage and a lot of other stuff. Now the same issue is occurring with gay people. I'm sure gay marriage will be legalized in all 50 states eventually ( i say that because blacks can marry now).
Its also in violation of the 1st amendment to deprive people from there rights (i think it's the first, but I'm not completely sure)

My best friend in the world is gay. And I love her like a sister and really hope one day to be standing at her wedding.

I'm all for two people being happy together, no matter what the circumstances are.

The marriage part makes no difference to me, they can marry if they want. What bothers me is that states that legally acknowledge marriage do not stand up for their insurance rights.
