I've found that if you're not beautiful, you're considered useless by many people, particularly men.

But at the same time, if you're beautiful, you're reduced down to a sex object.

Which is why I've completely given up on trying to satisfy most people w/ appearance.

An advantage for certain.., because men are visual beings, that's what they always tell me anyway? It seems that being more attractive gives a woman that edge, the foot in the door, that can further lead to a relationship. Where as an un-attractive female simply doesn't attract? enough attention for that initial consideration that a man will make before making a move towards her. It seems unfair?, but it's a reality, unfortunately.

It can be an advantage in that beauty gets a woman noticed but it can also work against her in that many men assume she's already taken and won't ask her out. Another problem she has to deal with is jealousy from other women.

I guess it depends on the woman. Some women seem to consider it a disadvantage to have men always hitting on the them and wanting to have sex with them. This is impossible to relate to, as a man, because myself and most men would LOVE it if women hit on us all the time and always wanted f**k us. But I guess some women aren't that interested in sex and/or they view sex from a perspective where it's a burden to them that they get hassled about it. Or they don't like feeling like men view them as an object. On the other hand, some women seem to love being attractive and they thrive on the attention it gives them. Still, however, it seems to me like this kind of woman enjoys the attention purely because they have the kind of personality that craves attention in general- not because they actually want the sex that gets offered to them.
Women are complicated and full of layers (just like ogres, except better looking).

It can be both. It can an advantage in that people often you treat you better.
It can be a disadvantage because people often don't take you seriously. To some, you are just "eye candy."

An advantage. Better paying jobs, better choices with men. Respect from other women, popularity,

At the same time is is a curse as I know plenty of stunning girls dating bastards or who have eating problems because beautiful girls care more about their looks.

Depends on your objective. If you are trying to get a job with a male chauvinistic pig, yes, beauty is an advantage. If you are trying to get married to a male chauvinistic pig, yes, its an advantage. If you are just trying to get along in life, who friggen cares. You are who you are and your are beautiful regardless of what anyone else thinks. You are all that and a bag of chips and don't let anyone else tell you any different.

well its a good trait to have as long as youdont dress like a whore or carry yourself in a concieded manner. in some cases it could get your foot in the door for different interviews and such. you could be the most beautiful woman in the world, but unless you plan to spend the rest of your life as a model or cheerleader, id say some brains would be nice too.

Advantage.
As long as you don't dress slutty or act stupid, you WILL be taken seriously. It just makes you smart and beautiful.
Nobody wants to be ugly, and nobody (honestly) wants to date someone who is ugly either. There has to be some sort of attraction.

Of course, if you're confident in yourself it'll show and thats attractive too.
So as long as you dont have a big nose and a third eyeball growing on your forehead, you'll probably get along fine.

It can be a great advantage if used wisely. But one has to remember that it's only a complimentary tool and nothing to fully rely on.
