These two things have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in common. Homosexuality is completely natural. If you will just have a look into some biology books, you will find, that homosexuality does also occur in many other species. In fact, at the present time, science knows about roughly 4,000 species other than Humans, where homosexuality does occur too. In additon, there are very good evolutionary explanations for the occurence of homosexuality. This is simply a fact. Incest on the other hand, can not be considered normal. Personally, I consider it as a disease, where people are for some reason not able to feel the natural barrier between them and close relatives, that most people do feel. However, incest is NOT dangerous at all. Oftentimes, it is confused with inbreeding, which is something else. Incest only defines the sexual love to a close relativ - not, however, the producing of children with this person. Therefore, I basically wouldn't have a problem with incest being legal. The problem is though: how do you make sure, these people won't get any children? Because this is very important. If there was a way to make sure, they won't be able to have children, than I would want it to be legal. But since we don't have any of such methods at the moment, it has to stay illegal. @ Salome Said: Can you name examples? If yes, I indeed will have to reconsider my opinion about the disease-part. But still, wouldn't you agree with me, that legalizing incest would be kinda dangerous, if you don't know how to solve the inbreeding-dilemma?

Well, nobody can choose who they are physically attracted to. Homosexuals seek out partners outside of their family units, just like heterosexuals. Homosexuality is no more a choice than heterosexuality. However, incest is an ACT and not a matter of sexual orientation. Family relationships are built on nonsexual love, trust, support, and the usually unspoken understanding that nobody will be using each other for sex. Gay or straight, the act of incest is not an act of love.
Hypothetically, I suppose blood relatives that did not know one another well and did not feel a familial bond could possibly fall in love and have a sexual relationship. Personally I don't believe in love at first sight, and would never consider romantically courting any close or distant member of my family. I would choose to look elsewhere for love. Anyway the subject of equal rights for homosexuals and the "defense of gays" is a very real civil rights issue, whereas hypothetical incestuous relationships are not.
PS
I'm gay. I have never been physically attracted to women. I've never been abused. I was attracted to other guys even before I knew what sex was. I'm not making excuses for my homosexuality because I don't believe I need to. I am just explaining myself.

Oddly though, in a good number of Straight porn mags, the sight of two blonde barbie doll like, twin sisters seems to be of a turn on for some Straight Men. They don't seem to find that gross.
Also, I have had this same discussion (not a debate, but a discussion) with other of my Gay male friends and thought about this issue with a whole lot more foresight then what you will ever get from an Internet message board or forum. Just because ou are not privy to discussions among Gay Folks, does not mean it in not thought about deeply. Perhaps if you attitude wasn't quite so aggressive, some of us would consider discussing it with you.

According to the CIA, there are 101,365,035 males in the US. People do not have 101,365,035 brothers or sisters, so an incestuous attraction is remarkedly different than an attraction to the same sex. There is no comparison between 101,365,035 people and a single individuals number of brothers and sisters.
The fourth Global Environment Outlook (GEO-4), published by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), compiled by 390 experts from observations, studies and data garnered over two decades, recently stated in reference to the growing world population that "the amount of resources needed to sustain it exceeds what is available."
Earth has experienced five mass extinctions in 450 million years, the latest of which occurred 65 million years ago, says GEO-4. "A sixth major extinction is under way, this time caused by human behavior," it says.
Since the Earth cannot sustain it's current population growth, gay people may be a contributing factor in the survival of the human species.

You're right.
The only reason is it an issue is for the same reason homosexuality, at least on the MARRIAGE aspect is an issue.
And that is that religious minded people think that it will destroy the meaning of "family" as we know it. That the bonds of marriage and family will become meaningless and ruin the sanctity of all that our country holds as "values". Religion has played a MAJOR role in a lot of things we view as "right" or "wrong". This goes back to the times of when ancient philosophers used to have these very same debates over what is "moral" and what is "right" or "wrong".
There's always exceptions to every rule. As long as it's consentual, of age, and not causing harm to anyone else (and that includes unborn children) then I don't have a problem with it.
I'll stay out of your bedroom if you'll stay out of mine.

Those are two different things, you idiot. Incest is sex with a FAMILY MEMBER. You can DEFINITELY choose who you want to have sex with. But as for what gender you're attracted to, it is NOT a choice. Why don't you try this logic, which is along the lines of what you say about homosexuality and incest:
Straight people don't choose to be attracted to the opposite sex. However, they DO choose who they have sex with. Does that mean that a male pervert should be able to have sex with a little girl??? NO!!!!!!
You're a moron. Go to school and get your HS diploma.... Or at least graduate elementary school... Sheesh...

Hows this:
I don't care who someone choses to have sex with. As long as it is consensual (Excluding underage and mentally disabled), and does not do harm (as in the incest birth defects) then why could you possibly care who someone is sleeping with.
How does it effect you? Is not living your own life more important then worrying about who John Doe is boinking?

Of all the things to think about comparing incest and homosexuality are just too different. They are done for different reasons and they are wrong for different reasons. You can't compare them.
Besides I choose to be gay. I'm different then most.. I feel that I make a choice.
