Around what time? Also, is it really socially acceptable to take out an infant? Everyone around me says yes, but it feels funny to take a five month old out Trick or Treating.

I took my daughter (last year she was 2 1/2) out around 6:30, and only for about a half hour or so. I felt funny taking her out when she was real young as well...I thought "People will know shes not the one eating all this candy."

Usually around 5:00 – 6:00 pm. And of course you can take an infant!

I think its silly to take a baby trick or treating unless you have older kids too. It's hard to calm a baby freaked out by the doorbell when you're constantly having to answer the door and by yourself, so send the baby with the spouse who is walking the kids. Otherwise--what is a baby going to do with candy?

I always remember it being dusk when I was taken out as a small child--right when the sun was starting to really set, we would leave.

My son is 15 months and my mother-in-law will be taking him. They don't understand at 5 months and I don't think my baby understands, either. I would wait until next year or the year after-that way the baby can walk around a little and enjoy it more.

The first time I went out I was 3. Stay out (together of course) as long as you can. Halloween is a Nighttime holiday mind you.

people start coming into our neighborhood around 5 o'clock. they bring their babies as well as their grandmothers and grandfathers. our entire street does something for halloween and at my house there is things from animation to delightful little eyes looking in amazement. it doesn't matter how old as long as you are with someone who is responsible. enjoy the night of fright and have a happy halloweeeeeeeeeeeeen !!!!!!

yes its fine, actually its adorable because the costumes are so cute!
take them out around 6ish but don't stay out too late with an infant... it could be bad because of the weather.

Oh, those are my favorites to come to my house! every year at like 3 or 4 pm the first doorbell ring comes, and it's always someone with a tiny little baby in mouse ears or tiger stripes or something, and it is just PRECIOUS!!!

The young ones should go out at dusk with a parent coming to the door with them.
