A girl at my school commited suicide, and today someone told me to attend the Funeral, the thing is that I didn't really know her. she has been in several of my classes in school for the past couple years and we have talked but we weren't really freinds... since we weren't really freinds, is it rude for me to attend?

That is so sad. I wonder why she did it? Going to the funeral service or viewing out of respect for a school mate (whether close or not) is a kind gesture I'm sure her family would appreciate. You don't have to stay long or say much. I went to the viewing for a girl who was murdered. I went to school with her mother and hadn't seen her in 20 years. We weren't friends, but I wanted to show that I cared.

If you want to pay your last respects to her its not rude. It will be comforting to the girl's parents if they know her classmates cared.

I read the article...that is very sad for someone so young. If you aren't comfortable attending the funeral, you can make memorial contributions to the church or a charity of your choice, as it said in the article. That is another great way of honoring your classmate's memory.

i be conscious of that that is tough, no person likes funerals! the reason i flow to funerals is to assist the kin of the deceased and to coach them that I cared approximately that guy or woman. I continuously think of roughly what if no person confirmed as much as the funeral simply by fact they do unlike funerals, how might the kin experience? i think of which you ought to attend the funeral of kin and close friends, yet deliver vegetation and a card to for individuals which you knew yet weren't on the brink of.

its not rude at all. If you remembered her, and want to pay your respects to her parents and relatives, then you have every right to do so. Her parents would probably be 'happy' in a way to see all the people that loved their daughter.

No it's not. You can go and pay your respects, or you don't have to. It's up to you, but it wouldn't be rude to go.
