First of all do a 50% partial waterchange with a gravelsiphon, and replace with conditioned water
Raise your temperature to 88 degrees
and add 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt to 1 gallon of water, so if you have a 10 gallon tank, you need to put 10 tablespoons of salt
take out a cup of tank water, and dissolve the salt in there and then pour it into your tank
do partial waterchanges of 25% every other day, and replace the salt taken , which is in a 10 gallon tank 2.5 tablespoons of salt
Leave the temperature up for at least 10 days, then your white spot should be disappeared and healed
If you have corycats in there, only put 1 tablespoon of salt on 5 gallons
Hope that helps
Good luck

If the spotsw are small and white like grains of sand you have an ick infestation. That is easily cured with ich medication available from any pet stop. Look for the type with malachite green and formalin in it, Quick Cure is one brand with these. Treat for 7 days after you see the last white spot on any fish, no matter what the package says. It really does take that long to be sure it's gone. Just because it's easy to treat, don't take it lightly. Ich WILL kill your fish if left untreated and it won't take but a few days for this to happen. Best of luck! MM

If the white spots are uniform in size than you have ich.
You need to do a 50% water change asap. Then begin treatment with an ich cure. Clout works well and is able to be purchased at most fish/pet stores. Follow directions then do another 50% water change after treatment is finished. Follow up by doing weekly 25-30% water changes to maintain a healthy system.
You may also want to pick up a product called CYCLE and add this to your tank after treatment to help rebuild the bio filter (possitive bacteria that keeps your tank in check) as treating for ich can lower their numbers.
Best of luck to you.

Actually its not it drops and dont have to cure it for 3 days!
It comes in a bottle... you put capfull for every 10 U.s. gallons.
But just before you do that take the carbon out of your filter.
The medication turns your aquarium a blue colour but it will not harm the fish
after 24 hours (1 day) put the carbon back in and after a few days the blue colour should be gone

Its Ick Go to your local fish store and get rid ick medicine. Its drops that go into the tank and you treat for 3 days straight but remember to take out your filter cartridges and leave them out during this treatment. Your tank will turn blue but will clear up when the filter cartridges are put back in.

It is "ick". They make specific medicine for it. If you can't go to the store tonight, raise the temperature 2-3 degrees and go to the pet store firsat thing tomorrow. Treat with medicine and in 24 hrs bring the temp back down.
The higher temperature shortens the lifespan of the fungus.

typically, the cure would be methylene blue but it is a rather low-dose and often ineffective way of getting rid of white spots but with this, you cannot overdose your fish. I suggest that you use Malachite green but be careful and follow the dosage indicated in the packaging. it is a more potent cure for white spot but can be deadly if overdosed. both are available at your local fish store. hope this helps.

It is Ick, go to your local pet store and buy Fungus guard, or non-ick or Fungus Clear. Any of these will work. Do it soon though.
