Morality is pumped into a person as he is born and grows up... soon he grows up and systematically kills it for the sake of desired results....... morality being longer-term oriented and directed towards collective wellbeing, seems to invariably clash with individual short term objectives........ it dies a natural death the moment any individual truly grows up.

Just one view-point..... please bear with it.

Well to begin with it does, but only on a personal scale. We live by our own personal moral codes, some have it some don't. Morality cannot be enforced, prohibition failed as is the current "war on drugs"and strippers and pimps are glorified instead of vilified as is violence. Sexxx drugs and misbehavior sell everything from toothpaste to cars to magazines and have become the only form of entertainment. The more lewd the more money and that is what our culture is based on.

Morality does exits.

To insist otherwise is a attempt to be a Zen Master
or a moron.

Have to go with Radio on this one. Stupid question.

If you are using this to debate policy, you should be fired.

I would tell you why not if that's what I believed, but I know that it DOES exist. You just gotta poke around.

because it is such a subjective thing that it essentialyl loses all meaning.
When one culture says kill your daughter if she has pre-marital sex, and another says protect your daughter's life at all costs and both say they are moral... then what is morality really?

I don't know.

Is it alright if I instead tell you why I think this is a stupid question?
