What happend to it. There used to be tons of people on the game. Now you luck to even run into one person you know. I Have played it sence 2000 and it almost totaly dead now.

I know about Luna. What shard has more ppl on it? Pac has crap for number of ppl.

The free servers happened. There are now over 300 player run servers. They each have their own idea of what "went wrong". Some are totally Pkill. Some totally dont allow pkill. Some are based on previoius versions of UO. Some have lots of gifts and goodies and easy gains. Others are harder than the original on gains and getting wealth. Some have been so totally modified that even though they play the same you would not recognize the maps and monsters.
I play on a really small shard that is adult-run, hard gains, no pkill (but they do have an arena for challenges), and its really quiet. There is actually wilderness that I can build a house and have no neighbors anywhere near me. But it still has enough players to get up a hunting party to do the champions.

You will find varying populations on the different shards.
Go to the Luna Bank if you're looking for people. As a result of the Britain invasion a couple of years back, and the more recent abandoning of the original Haven town, people congregate in Luna now.
