I am Mongolian transfer student visiting hosting family here in a United State. My hosting family has large plant, much beautiful, and is family "hair loom," they say to me. They say to me it has been in family for 200 years. Before hosting mother left in morning she said to me that I am to give to hair loom plant water and plant nutrient spray. But I could not find plant nutrient spray in the garage shelf. I found "Anti Freeze" instead, and I pour some on hair loom. Now hair loom plant is very bad. What I have done wrong?

You were suppose to dilute the anti-freeze with rat poison. You live and you learn I guess. Chalk it up to experience. Welcome to America.

Wrongs can be different between cultures and can change over time. Some cultures believe that certain food must be prepared in a certain way and it is wrong to do otherwise. That wrong my have evolved before refrigeration was available and so may no longer be applicable. Even so, there will be some who follow the tradition just because it worked for prior generations. For people who believed in the necessity for racial purity some people it was wrong to have integrated schools, shared restaurants and bathrooms. For people who believed in male superiority, it used to be wrong for women to expect equal pay. For populations that were dying because of disease or loss of life in war and natural disaster, one can imagine that homosexuality was discouraged because it diverted sexual energy from reproduction. I suspect that if you check the 10 Commandments you will find that each was described to discourage actions that tended to have bad results for those societies at that time and probably still does. In many cases, just as you have described and to the developed world of the 21st century, these bad results appear quite logical. In Biblical times, only a few understood the logic or had the wisdom. Moses was very wise indeed and knew that the long suffering Tribes would never have believed he could personally have such wisdom but if he described these as the words of God, well . . . . . .

I really don't want to be rude. I'm not sure I buy this story. If you knew enough English to read "anti freeze"
Then why didn't you know it was the wrong thing to use.? Also if you are intelligent enough to come to the US with the student exchange program you would also be smart enough to know the word heirloom.
You certainly were intelligent enough to put your question in Yahoo! Answers with enough English to understand. So when I add up the facts and some things I see as discrepancies I personally think you know exactly what you did as wrong!
The only house plant I can think of that would live that long is a bonsai.
Sorry if I like a rude American but I'm from a state that says "Show Me".

Anti freeze warms up the plant and keeps it from freezing, but it also makes it too hot for the plant if you keep it inside. Take it outside and leave it for a while so that it will cool down. Hopefully you live where it will freeze tonight. That's really what the plant needs, but don't worry about the plant freezing, you have put anti freeze on it. It will be fine. MIght spray it again before you put it out for the night.

Sorry I couldn't help you with your "hair loom", but it's definitely and completely buggered. 200yrs old you say, maybe you're going to be completely buggered as well. RScott
