The meaning of the name is a person from Brittany, France.
The perception I have of the name Brittany is tainted because of Britney Spears. It also makes me think of a ditzy cheerleader. It's an eighties-tastic name, like Kimberly, Tiffany, Mindy and Stacy. To me, Brittany used to be pretty, but now it's empty, ditzy, and dated.

I'm sorry if this offended you. I don't know any Brittany's personally, so most of my opinion of the name comes from Britney Speares and characters in movies, as silly as that sounds.
