on my science paper it says how far is the earth from the sun in ams... whats ams??
cos every site i go to asks "did you mean arms??"
so help me please????

Are you sure its not a typo? There's something called AU, which means astronomical units. One AU is the distance from Earth to the Sun.

AMS can mean antenna measurement system....but I don't think that's applicable.

***I don't think its angstroms either. That's an incredibly small unit of measurement and is not practical for measuring such a great distance.

The sun is one au (astronomical unit) from the Earth by definition.

Perhaps the question was aus - in cursive could look like ams.

I believe ams means angstroms. An angstrom is equal to roughly 1/10th of a nanometer.
