The Wedding Banquet (1993)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wedding_Banquet
Wikipedia summary:
Wai-Tung Gao (Winston Chao) and Simon (Mitchell Lichtenstein) are a happy gay couple living in Manhattan. Wai-Tung is in his late 20s, so his Taiwanese parents (Sihung Lung and Ah-Leh Gua) are eager to see him get married and have a child. The early part of the movie is madcap comedy.

The director is Ang Lee, who also directed "The Hulk", "Ride with the Devil", "The Ice Storm", and "Brokeback Mountain".

EDIT: Sorry! I had the link to the right page. I got distracted by a movie and ended up with the wrong word! That happens a lot because I have a bit of trouble with aphasia. Oops! If you'll note, my link does say "Wedding Banquet". Also, I had a bit of Wikipedia's summary for it; summaries and reviews tend to show how various people interpret the same film.
