I am not even pregnant yet but TTC, and have been going over names with my hubby for a year now! Im having a problem finding girl names i like. I have always loved the name Bella, but i havent gotten good responses about it when i asked if people liked it! I kinda like Annabella, and iv recently fell in love with the name Kassidy/Cassidy. But other than those i just cant seem to come across any i love. Is this normal? Were any of you this picky?

P.S. Name suggestions would be great, maybe ill get lucky and love one you suggest :) I want a girly name..not to common, but not strange either. Im a country girl, so i also love southern sounding names. Thanks in advance!!!

My sister Kaylas middle name is Cassidy. I like Annabella, but now Bella as itself.

My favourite names are :
Ella, Kira, Lily, Miley, Sydney, Audrey

If I were you, I would chose Ella. You could call her Bella as a nick name AND it just so happens to be a girly name like you wanted. I love this name--it's beautiful.

And yes, it definitely is normal. You have to relize this child is going to live with this name forever. You'll find a great name no doubt. Good luck!

I am the same way with names! I'm not even TTC yet, but I have a short list of names already: Daphne Margaret, Charlotte Isobel, James Kenneth, and Theodore Alan. I totally understand where you're coming from.

I really like the name Annabelle for a southern girl name. I do like the name Bella, but it feels incomplete to me as a given name. It makes for a sweet nickname, though.

If I had to pick, I do like Cassidy. The "K" kind of makes it seem trendy, bordering on trashy. However, it does make me think of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Some name ideas for you:

Henrietta
Georgia
Callista
Fiona
Lucinda
Ophelia
Wilhelmina (nn Willa)
Daniela

These are kind of odd, I know, but they are very feminine sounding, and very sweet sounding.

For Bella, you could try Arabella or Belinda. Neither are common right now like Isabella and Annabella have become. And I fell in love with the name Cassie, which is close to Cassidy, but i didn't want it to be short for Casandra because there is already a Sandra in our family. I picked Cassiana (cassie-on-a) but my husband wouldn't go for it. Maybe it will work for you?
Hope these suggestions are helpful!

It is totally ok to have names lined up that way when it is time you don't have to rush to choose. i have my names picked out and I am not having kids for another year or so. I love the name Cassidy, it will go for a girl or a boy.

Here are some suggs.

Cassidy Janae
Cassidy Leigh
Cassidy Nicole

If you want a "girly" name, Annabella or simply Annabel works, but Cassidy is unisex. Might want to avoid that one. :)

Since you mentioned being a southern/country girl, perhaps a double name would appeal? ;)

Anna Claire
Ava Harper
Adelia Jane

You get the idea.

It's fine to be picky. Bella, Annabella, and Cassidy are very pretty names.

What about?
Arianna
Lannie
Julianna
Kelcey
Suzanne
Haley
Nicole
Isabella
Savannah

Hope this helps. What about a boy name? Best of luck to you.

Remember when choosing a name that it shouldn't necessarily be one that you love, but one that you think you and your child can live with.

When you come up with some you like, try saying it out loud as if you are calling your child. See how it sounds. Also, make sure you will be prepared to help this child learn how to spell it. Check the initials and make sure it doesn't spell anything inappropriate.

Yes, it is okay to be picky about names... I don't have one name on my list that has been on the top 1000 names list in the past 20 years.... None are weird or spelled oddly - they're all names people have heard but just don't get used....

I don't share any names I like with anyone either... I know most of the names I like other people hate, and it's really no one's business but mine and my husband's.... and no name will be picked out before the kid's even born... I hate that too.

So, yes, obviously I'm very picky....
