I have two girls. We took them to Breckenridge CO during the height of winter a couple of years ago. It was one of the first times they were old to enough to enjoy such a get away. There was so much to do :sled, walk around the town, go to the pool, ride the free shuttle around the town, go in kitchy shops, ride the chair lift (too young to ski) etc. Noooo... all they wanted to do was spend time in the hotel room itself and jump from bed to bed. They did it over, and over and over again. I ended up reading in the bathroom cause they were so noisy and wound up. I finished my book, my husband watched them go nuts!

I used to give my 3 daughters the option of having a birthday party or having the whole family go spend a night at Circus-Circus in Reno (near where we lived in Lake Tahoe). I NEVER had to have a birthday party for any of them- they loved staying in hotels. We always had a contest on the drive over to see who would get the first bath with all the hot water they wanted! That was the best thing- unlimited baths and hot water! They loved getting $10 each to play arcade games and always won stuffed animals to bring home. We would eat at the buffet, which of course is always a treat! My daughters are now 29, 32 & 33 and remember those overnight trips with a special fondness. Now, with my grandkids, the ante has been raised- My oldest daughter and I took the 2 boys, ages 4 and 11 to England for 2 weeks this summer. They also LOVE travelling, staying in hotels and B&B's and seeing every thing we can squeeze in. The little one loved London so much that he hasn't stopped talking about it and his Auntie is taking him back for his 5th birthday over the Thanksgiving holiday- we haven't even told him yet- we'll tell him on Monday on his birthday! I can't wait to see his reaction- he's going to be SO excited! Who doesn't like hotels? They've got to be nuts!
