Everyone keep talking about America fighting in the streets of Baghdad. Well, what about Al Quada going around killing innocent people in the streets?

How about this...we sent a whole Army into the desert of Iraq. If Al Quada and the clerics were real men, they would have come out as a battalion and faced us down Army style; no where near civilians. But no, they chose to hide in neighborhoods and houses and we had to go after them.

Al Chickenda.

There are not that many of them, and that is not their method.

There are two solutions.

Brutality or withdrawal.

Our people can't sort of fight a war, door to door, with the media looking over their shoulders and dipsh_t politicians telling them what to do.

When the emperor of Japan (that dog waste, hirohito) declared that everyone was a combatant, he opened the door to allied victory.

Even after partitioning, Iraq will not be at peace unless their "leaders" get their hands out of the cookie jar and really do something. Kicking us out would be a real good start, save a lot of American lives/

I understand they will soon come out to fight and die rather than being captured. The President has rolled out the secret weapon. Effective December 1st, all detention facilities in Iraq will be managed by a National Guard outfit from New Jersey. The boys in Al Queda are hip enough to America that they don't want to have a jailer from the same state as Tony Soprano. LOL!

Set piece battles are a thing of the past.

Why on earth would Al-Qeada (sp?) come out and fight an old fashioned set piece battle in the open with an enemy that controls the air, can call upon air support at any time, etc. which would tilt the battle so far in their favor that the ground troops would just mop up whats left?

Where is the benefit for Al-Qeada? Holding up in cities, in mountains, etc. that make excursions by the US difficult helps neutralize some of the large advantages the US has over them. Makes sense for them to do so.

Check up on history....read about the Vietnam War about the large set piece battles fought by the NVA and VC and their losses sustained compared to guerilla style combat.

They are fighting to their strengths to avoid US strengths. By doing so, they are forcing the US to take the fight to them in a fashion which they are not suited for. The American colonists hid behind trees and adopted guerilla warfare against the Red Coats during the beginning of the Revolutionary War because they were fighting the best army in the world at the time and couldn't stand up an fight "like civilized men" lined up man to man.

Its not being chicken, its about being smart.

Al Qaida is using Guerrilla warfare and it's very effective form of battle world wide .... wears down their enemy, like fighting a ghost. Terror tactics are their best offense and defense..... rebel fighters can carry on a battle for decades without losing too many fighters and costs aren't exorbitant.
People use what is available for them.

The sad part about fighting in a Muslim country is that our troops can't see who's hiding behind all those robes, is it a man or a woman, shouldn't matter.
Political correctness and war don't below in the same sentence

They stand no chance in head to head battles. Their reserves are being stretched and most of their "well" trained soldiers are dead or in Gitmo. Head to head it'd be a slaughter, the Euphrates would be a tomb.
If we stuck a whole army in the desert? What do you think is going on right now? We ain't camped in the grasslands. The way the the insurgency fights is brutal but really their only option. There is no cover there, they use the streets and crowds as their jungle and their camouflage makes them invisible.
It's a hard fight but one we gotta, and are going to win.

ADDED: Well I guess we know how he got the name "Special Ed", do us all a favor and get back on the short bus.

Because they fight a different kind of war... a war of patience. They are not a country. They are an ideaology.

This is exactly why we are losing the war. Thanks to silly people like you that do not comprehend global consequence and reaction.

Maybe you can go sit on the fence pole with 'your' president and understand the consequence of sitting on an sharp object. Maybe it will provoke an reaction.

Because they are not an uniformed army. They use different tactics.
