Do you really think you are free in America?

No.

That freedom is eroding every day, taken by those that can't stand a world that disagrees with them. Those freedoms will keep disappearing until we aren't allowed to speak to each other anymore, for fear that a word might offend and traumatize someone else.

Have you read "1984" or seen "Demolition Man?" You should, because they're happening.

With what we have in the White House right now many of our liberties are now things of the past.
Right now liberty is an idea but no, we are not really free, just an illusion.
The last time America felt free and in absolutely "all aspects of life" was when President Clinton was in office. After that, one nightmare after another, deteriorating what used to be our way of living.

-(Today with Bush, we are having An Illusion Of Freedom... Nothing more, nothing less.)-

No. I don't believe we are free in America. Yes, we have more freedom than other countries, but we're still not free. You can't smoke in restaurants, you can't get married if you're gay, you can't get an abortion. A long line of things that don't make us free. Our votes don't even really mean anything. If you think we're free, maybe some people should check their facts.

Sweet Blond Lady,
Freedom means everything to me, and I love each and every one of our freedoms. Yes, I really think America is free, but I also think we are slowly loosing these freedoms each and every day. Thousands upon thousands of veterans have died to keep us free...as long as I breathe, I will ALWAYS Honor and Cherish their memory and their American idealism. Granted, things aren't as good as they could be...but through my own military service, I have lived in places where there were no personal freedoms to be enjoyed by anyone. Thank you for your question and God bless America!

PS: What's wrong with giving a machine gun to a monkey!!! LOL!!! OMG...LOL...!!! :)

True Freedom means being free to raise your self from nothing and to be something. It's being free from unfair taxation, such as being taxed at a higher rate because of your income bracket. True is being free of government programs that enable people to be lazy and to not be accountable for their own lives. True freedom comes from God and only God. If Freedom is granted by a government it can be taken away. Freedom is participating in free enterprise and owning a business, not being a slave and working for an employer.

I think I take freedom for granted, when I see movies or news about people living in other parts of the world who are afraid to so anything or be killed, I am glad to be an American citizen, it's just the religious right who scares me about this country they are trying to take some of our freedoms away from us

Freedom must go hand-in-hand with responsibility - because without responsibility, freedom is as dangerous as giving a machine gun to a monkey.

Too bad most people aren't very responsible these days, they're too concerned about being entertained.

I'm as free as I suppose I'll be anywhere.
Our freedom is always dangling from a very thin wire. It can be clipped at any time.
We are only as free as the powerful allow to be.

Freedom to me is the Black Pearl.

Yes, we really are free in America. The representative form of govt that we have is the best and the capitalistic form of life is the best.
