Today in English Class we talked about how some things aren't human......My teacher made a good example by saying:
A mother hears her daughter crying in the middle of the night.... she goes to her room and goes straight to her daughter and tells her that it'll be alright"
The mother didnt go around to check to see or think of anything.... she just says it'll be alright to her daughter.... how can people assume things are going to be alright if there isnt any proof??? Like if you hear that someone you know is at the hospital and you dont know how bad their condition is but you still tell them that everything will be alright...... would that be concidered lying???
We hope most of the time and say things without thought...... we are told what is "real" but we never stop and ask what "real" is in the first place..... I want to hear from you what you think is "real"........

It's suppose to make you think..... okay this is another way to look at it:
You get over a 90 on your test but your other 2 friends have to retake theirs.... but when they finish theirs and give theirs to the teacher, the teacher comes back and says," I didn't want to miss snowboarding with my friends so I just gave you both 0's"..... and your friends start saying that it's unjustice..... and you do too, why? why do you include yourself if it has nothing to do with you??? If you actually get what I mean, then you'll understand why I'm saying this.... and no I dont have a lot of time on my hands.... this was a thinking kind of thing and I barely got it and I just want other people to know it as well.....

You're right at some points, but on the other hand I think when I believe in something that I want to happen, I just put it this way like it's already happen. what I mean by that is if I want to see a change in something I just predict it.

By nature.. mothers are nurturing and comforting! And how often is something really there? Why would a mom say I hope it will be alright or you better watch out, you never know if you have a boogie man in your closet.. What else would she say? What would you say. Why would any mother want there child to worry and get upset? They want to protect them and comfort them.
When people are dying in the hospital people should always remain hopeful! Miracles happen everyday. Who's to say they won't be alright. Even if the doctor says no chance, miracles still occur..that's why you wont meet too many dr.s who don't believe in God.
And even if they do die, they will probably be much better in the afterlife!
Bottom line keep a positive outlook on life. Negativity is like an infectious disease and its contagious!!

It's human nature to want to make people you care about happy when they are upset. And when you ask what "real" means, what does "alright" mean? When the mother says it's going to be alright to her daughter she could be saying it because her mother is there with her now and can make whatever is wrong better in some way...and as for the patient...saying that everything is going to be alright could mean that it's going to be alright because he/she will get better, or they won't get better but they'll go to better place (heaven)

I am a mother,and a grandmother ,and a mother in law.
What is real, is loving comfort.
Then, listen to the problem, and then solve it if possible.
What is MORE real is the LOVE that those words were spoken with.
That is what makes it all right.
Sometimes, the solution to a problem is not a cure....
But the love and strength given to help deal with the problem.....
LOVE is real!

While not meant to be, this type of response shows a total lack of concern for the people handling the problem.
A better way of showing concern for the person would be to speak about their problem, possibly finding a solution.

Yes, true. But you say everything will be alright to calm the person down. That way HE also thinks everything is fine. So he will be able to take it easier and be less a burden and that he is filled with hope to get better or achieve his or her goal.

Its only lying with the conscious thought that you are lying. People who say 'it will be alright' but don't think about what they're saying are just habitual and not being mindful.
