No, they won't leave the Union! They are making a public statement to our government about the state of affairs in our country. We are not going to have another Civil War!

The civil war was not,as is popularly believed, brought about because the South refused to abolish slavery but because several southern states decided to secede from the union and the government of the day chose to ignore their legal right to do so. These states were motivated by a desire to purge themselves of interference in such matters as slavery, which can not be defended; but their right to leave the union was still ignored and their attempt to make use of it was thoroughly punished..it still is being punished in some ways, the southern states are still poorer than the northern.
Perhaps there are states which would secede nowadays, for a variety of reasons, but even f heir doing so was not in anyway harmful to the rest of the union it would not be tolerated any more than it was in the past because if one left it would establish a precedent that would undermine the security and unity of the rest.

It already happened in 1861 when South Carolina kicked off the Confederate States of America.
It won't happen again for a while, if at all. It would either be Texas or Louisiana. Who knows, since they border each other, maybe they'd establish their own independent nation.
My bet is that there will be another revolutionary war due to the reasons you listed, as well as infringement upon individual freedoms - speech, 2nd Amendment, privacy, etc. I doubt there would really be a defined country against the U.S. federal government, but a band of rebels spread throughout the country. They'll be labeled as terrorists by the federal government because they'll have to employ hit-and-run tactics due to not being as well as equipped as the fed's military.

The Southern states tried that once and we had a war. And that was back when states really had autonomy. Today they're all joined at the hip with the federal government. So the answer is no, not in a million years.

that is tough to have confidence they have any good reason to stay. Argentina is a competent occasion of ways a 'good' default can paintings. Greece might alright think of default and fiscal independence are greater suited than austerity and a grudging hand-out from the ecu.

Do agree with you that one or more states may leave or attempt to leave the union---a movement from both northern and southern states is now underway for this purpose and met in Chattanooga,Tn. within the last few weeks.

States should have enough autonomy that they wouldn't ever need to secede.
