After 15 yrs a woman shows up with child and says I owe $50,000.00 in child support. DNA Test Refused.Possible

I was with a woman 15 yrs ago. I was only 16/17 yrs old but we still lived together. She cheated on Me several times and stole a check from my mom and forged it, so we split up. She took off for awhile and then She showed back up with a 4 mnth old baby and told me she was mine. Because I was under age, and she had cheated, my parents offered to pay for a DNA test. She refused and ran with the baby. 15 yrs later, she's back and says that if I don't buy her daughter a $5 - $6,000.00 car, I need to pay the $50,000.00+ I owe in child support. She still has not had the DNA test done. I've contacted Child Support in all 6 states she lived in and they can't seem to find a case with me. Is this possible? What do I do? My wife and I have 2 children now and My wife makes o.k. money, but I don't make much. We can't afford a lawyer. Is there help out there for us?

she is trying to extort money form you. You do not have to pay one red cent until DNA test are conducted, and there is proof that the child is yours. If there was a court ordered child support, you would have known by now. But I just think this sorry tail think is probably going around to all those that she had relations with and telling them the same thing. Have you thought about trying to find those guys and see if she is doing the same type of thing, It really sounds like extortion to me, because she is saying to either do this or u r going to have to give 50,000.00.....how did she come up with this figure anyway, that is for a judge to determine, not her. You may want to look into hiring an attorney for this matter. because al long as she refuses to have the DNA test, then you do not pay nothing, and I do not know or even if the judge goes back too far for back child support. depends on the laws in your state.

Shes lieing. If you haven't gotton any forms in the mail from a child support service and or have not been arrested for back child support she never filed with child support services. I'm guessing the reason why she didn't file anything is because the baby isn't yours and she a lieing manipulative sl*t. Tell her to take a hike. If she insists on saying its your kid ask for a DNA test only ONE more time,since its been asked for numerous times already, and if she doesn't comply get a restraining order on her. That may seem harsh and you may not have to after you tell her you want a DNA test but under no circumstance do you give her any money until you hear from a child support agency AND get some DNA results! Its called extortion, and in most states its a felony.

She's trying to extort money from you by claiming a child she refuses to prove is your is owed $50K in back child support.

First, she has to prove that, and she does so with a dna test that is done by a reputible lab and handled by HER attorney. Second, the court determines child support, not the mother, and THEY will tell you what you really owe if its yours. SHE cannot let you off with a lesser amount, since she's not an officer of the court.

Contact the local district attorneys' office and see what they can do to make her leave you alone. Maybe even a restraining order would be an option. If she can provide proof to them that its your child, then you'll need to get an attorney to help. Almost all attorney's offer free consultation on the first visit, and you can even find ones who work on a sliding scale for people on a limited income.

It sounds like she is trying to scam you. Why don't you pay for the DNA test?

Bottom line, no test, no money.

If you are the father, you will be on the hook for the back child support. There is no getting around that.

The good news is there is nothing she can do until she files the case with the courts. So do not worry about the lawyer until and if she does file suit. Then the courts will order the DNA test.

You are fine and have no worries at this point. Just pray for the poor child and take care of your family.

basically, all you need to do is wait for a court summons to come in the mail, this happened to my ex, the child was 16 years old. She petitioned the court where she lived for child support, and they sent my ex a summons to appear in court, do not ignore the summons ! when you go to court, you will be offered a DNA test, if your not offered one, then ask ! this is your right. after the DNA test, the child support will start at that time,from that day forward. it is up to the judge to order back support. this doesn't always happen, so you need to speak well, and present your self to the judge, and explain your case as best as possible.
if she cant present you a court order with you listed as the father, then one probably does not exist. you can always check your 'credit report' because if you owe that much, it will definitely be in your credit file ! Good Luck !

She can't just make up these figures or put a price on her child. If you request a paternity test, and it is found to be your child - you have to pay the couple hundred bucks for the test and then childsupport... if the paternity test deems the child is not yours - you don't have to pay for the test and no child support either.

Childsupport is one of those things that it is a figure/an equation/formula based on your money & her money... your dependents and her dependents... you might "need" an attorney.. you might be able to get by on your own...

however, you can find a cheap attorney..

don't do anything until she actually takes you to court for child support.. it sounds like a shake down!

She can't do anything to you without a court document setting a specific monthy support amount based on the difference between your income and hers during the specified years. If you aren't listed as the father on the child's original birth certificate, and POSSIBLY without your signiture, she couldn't even get said document without a DNA test. The most you would have to do is swab your cheek and supply tax returns. Let HER get a lawyer if she really feels she's owed this money. She can't touch you without her own records to back it up.

I would NOT give this woman a DIME without FIRST having
a DNA test done. (If she continues to refuse .... then "so be it" ... don't give her a dime!)

I would also suggest that you get legal advice. If you can not
afford a lawyer. See if there is some type of free or discount
Legal-Aid service in your area. Your local "Friend of the Court" may be able to advise you. Whether or not this is your child .... You need to know what YOUR rights are.
Without any medical results .... Or court order..... to back her up ... It sounds to me that this woman is trying to either back mail you or intimidate you. Don't allow it!

well she's technically not making u pay it would be the court there for the court would make the order and u would have to have a hearing, all u have to do is explain to the judge the situation and he will grant u paternity test before making a judgement to pay the money... in most cases it goes that way... even if u have a lawyer or not.... all the lawyer would do is help negotiate the amount of money you need to pay....

She should be forced to prove you are the father. That can be a court order is to get DNA tests done.

I would act fast, and get a court to order DNA tests.

She sounds crazy and very manipulative.

She should also take a piss test, sounds like she may be way way out there, possibly on a mission with NASA.
