You know, I'm glad that you asked this question. I often wonder why people treat one another so badly. Then the other night I watched 3 sit-coms in a row...one of them was three and a half men, I can't remember the names of the others. I never watch sit coms but I was watching them with a friend. All they are about is a married couple trying to spice up their sex life, and yelling at one another.....or guys talking about sleeping with girls....and people putting one another down.....unfortunately that is how life really is, I think these days anyway.

the problems presented are realistic (not outside world realistic but American materialistic realistic). However, how they are resolved tends to be a little too easy (always a happy ending/no one gets hurt/etc.) so in that sense absolutely not.

There are many layers to "realistic." Most of them display increasingly selfich behavior and shadenfreude. That is realistic.

Seeing as how they are comedies they're not to be taken seriously. I have to say that us Brits have the best sit coms.... check out Steptoe and Son and Til death us do part...... brill.

In a small degree they are, but the directors of the shows stretch the truth to make it so interesting that you get addicted to watching the show.

Most aren't...most are way too dramatic...other ones like Reba are neutral and seems the most realistic.
