It's a little of both for me. Happy for obvious reasons and sad because I would really like to have someone to share the holidays with.

I do get a little sad. Both my parents have passed on, and I have family members that don't live close to me. Still it is a holiday, and I try to keep my focus on what can be instead of the what can't.

I get depressed during the holiday season...my mother has been deceased for eight years, and my father died two days before Christmas 3 years ago; even though my kids are around to take my mind off missing them for the most part, it still hurts.
