It's not baby "powder" it's baby "oil" that you add. Baby powder will ruin your engine but baby oil will make it run smooth as a baby's bottom. Try it tonight, you will notice the difference right away.

Is this a real friend of yours? No, there's absolutely no truth to what your friend is trying to persuade you to do. Talc is basically Hydrated Magnesium Silicate. If any of the motor oil companies on god's green earth thought that baby power would soften it for what ever reason which you didn't explain, they'd have done it by now.

olive oil will help the dryness & frizz. mayo will help for shine. however, if the ends are split or dead you'll have to just get a trim, otherwise it'll get worse. also, any conditioner helps really but try to stick to hydrating ones & ones with vitamins =] i use suave humanectant shampoo & conditioner. it helps a ton!

Baby powder works swell, but I usually find that baking soda can really keep those pistons pumping. Just make sure you replace your knipfel bearings every 3000 miles or so.

Somebody is yanking your chain.
Just use a good grade of oil, filter and change it every 3000 miles and your car will run just fine for a looooooong time.

I wouldn't take the risk. Use a good proprietary product like RedEx.

I really hope you're joking.
If not, please don't do this. You'll destroy all the lubrication properties of the oil. It will destroy your engine. Use an oil treatment product like Lucas Oil Stabilizer if you have to use anything.
