I think it's still true it happens more in the gay community... And I'm not one to blame bad habits on people, but I see this for 2 reasons (especially with guys...)

Guys all hit their sexual peak at about the same time. Also men (even gay men ;) usually have an easier time of separating sex from love. It has been scientifically proven that women have a harder time in general, separating sex and love. This makes it a bit easier to happen between men and not let emotions confuse the situation. So I would actually say MEN are more involved in casual sex.. not just gay men, not just homosexuals, but Men in general.

The other problem is, honestly it wasn't that long ago (not that it NEVER happens now) that people could be jailed, beat up, or even killed for being in a gay relationship. I hear all the time, "Oh, gay men have sex in public bathrooms...." Well, that DID happen a lot, and still happens to some extent now, but why? Because people were to afraid to bring it out in the open for fear of getting killed. It's not AS big a worry today, but still can be a concern. Anonymous sex happens more with gay men, because (IMO) for the last few hundred years, homosexuality could be dealt with, sometimes even LEGALLY with death. So it was closeted, hidden, and anonymous. More relationships form as it becomes more socially acceptable. Some day, that stigma will have almost completely disapered.

I think that our relationships are pretty much the same as heterosexual relationships. I dated men until my late 20s and have dated only women for the 4 years. The only difference I notice between the two is that I feel much more deeply connected to the women I have dated and find that being in a relationship with a woman is much more emotionally fulfilling than the ones I had with men. In terms of "gender roles" (tom-boys, effeminate men) I have found that being gay is so liberating, I don't feel the pressures that I used to when playing by society's rule book was important to me. I'll give you two examples: 1. When I was with men, I felt like I had to be feminine most of the time. I wanted to fit in with straight women and dress the part. Now, I feel the freedom play up my tomboy or femme sides of me whenever I want to. 2. When I started dating women, I was surprised to see how many expectations I had put on the men I dated that I didn't even realize (is he a good provider, etc.). When I began dating women I didn't care about any of that stuff, I was more intersted in them as people. However, I can tell you that many gay/lesbain people are NOT this way all! Some of them are looking for a very specific "type" or are very concerned that their partner has a certain social/financial status.

I would say that under oppressive circumstances those with homosexual attraction might have more casual sex but I can't say for sure. I'm not comparing that with straight people having sex though because they have alot of casual sex too.

I believe it it false. All those teen aged moms these days certainly are not gay.

All orientations are involved in casual sex, simple fact. None more than the other.

Of course it's true. Males biologically want and therefor need sex more frequently than females, so if both partners are males, the desires are statistically more often met with success.
The frequency also increases when both parties are females, but for different reasons, which mostly involve a decrease in the expected danger of unwanted consequences.

I believe that this is true. You never hear about a straight couple getting caught having sex in an airport bathroom.

I think probably it is true, becuase there is a lot of religious and societal pressure on straight people to conform to certain rules like abstinence etc.

Gays probably don't have the same pressures, becuase they are careful and they don't have any pregnancy issues to deal with

yes it is rumored... but mostly among straight republican right wing conservatives... the truth is... straight people do just as much "catting" around...and in fact have just as many gay people among them... it's just that they lie about it...and keep it in the closet... because everyone knows if you deny it...it doesn't exist right?...
