like, okay... when i was a kid tv was interesting.
i'm 25 now and astonished at how freaking stupid tv shows are. i mean they are really REALLY ..stupid.
last two shows i watched:
2 1/2 men
smallville
could i have actually gotten smarter or did everyone else get ...unsmarter?

The more likely answer is that you've gotten smarter, because TV has _always_ been stupid and insipid. They don't call it the "boob tube" for nothing.
There are still a few good shows out there, but they are definitely the exception rather than the rule. I agree that TV used to be more interesting, but interesting does not equal smart. I think it's a natural cycle that the more people mature, the more they see TV as being irrelevant. TV by its nature mostly tends to aim for the lowest common denominator.
The 2 shows you mentioned--a sitcom and a fantasy show--tend to be the least intelligent. Not those particular shows, but the genres.

The answer is that you are obviously a genius.
BUT, TV has gotten stupider at the same time, compounding your predicament!
Alas, you will never enjoy TV again. BUT there is video!
Buy or rent some DVDs. Enjoy.
Or, get a very fast motorcycle and head south. No need for TV.

I am only 15, and I think all tv is stupid. I do not know if it has changed from ten years ago. If you realize how stupid it is, you are already smarter than the average of people I have met.

I don't know if you've gotten smarter but your English sure has not.
TV has been this stupid for at least the last 15 years and not much less stupid before then.

Sure, TV was interesting to you when you were a kid. You didn't know as much as you do now. I find the same thing when I watch something I used to live to see. Now I have to wonder what I ever saw in that stuff.

in my opinion...
Tv alone insults your intelligences ...
But when you think about it what is wrong with unwinding with some basic entertainment. (just don't over do it) (world hint) lol

Oh, thanks for reminding me that Smallville's on tonight.
And I agree... I miss the *smart* shows like Full House, The Flying Nun, and Miami Vice.
