All that happened with the "big bang" was simply physics. Who was there to cause it? I don't believe it was god, (mainly because I'm an atheist) and who else was there to make it? It just happened. Life is just the bits of matter that don't understand that everything is okay. That nothing needs to change or be done. That there is no meaning. Dead things are fine being dead. Live things want to be alive, looking for meaning, and/or just prolonging their existence. Love is a function for reproduction paired with placing value on certain people more than others. Great beyond? You mean, everything else? They are just continuations of what we live on, observe, and wonder about. They have the same characteristics as we do, just in different locations. Of course, I know nothing. These are all just conjectures, as is everything in life.

The big boom was a fart, love is chemicals, life is to come to terms with reality, and the great beyond is just a concept.

The universe as a whole is a product of larger universes, or membranes that collided and leaked energy into a realm as we know as the universe. Google m-theory, It's fascinating.

I don't know but when you figure it out don't post it on Answers.
Write it up for peer review, publish and wait for the Nobel Prize in Physics.
